National Squad

Maximum squad size = 15

Aim = To place swimmers in National Finals & on British Swimming World Class

Programmes.

Criteria =

• Must have numerous district times and be within 5% of National Qualifying Time
• Swimmers only compete in meets selected by Chief Coach
• Attendance – Boys 13+ = 8/9 sessions per week

Girls 13 + = 8/9sessions per week

Boys under 13 = 6/7 sessions per week

Girls under 13 =7 sessions per week

• Keep an up-to date log book to be handed in every Monday
• No 50M National Times will be accepted
• Good all-round technical ability
• Saturday morning session is compulsory and must attend at least 2 other morning sessions
• During GCSE’s & S.A.T.S. training can be halved
• Swimmers must have a positive attitude to training and competition
• Having all of the above does not guarantee automatic selection
