New Head Coach for CADS

The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Sheldrick as Head Coach.  Mark comes to CADS with a wealth of experience having coached at Perry Beeches, he is currently the Head Coach of Blythe Barracudas Swimming Club & Assistant Coach at City of Birmingham. We look forward to welcoming Mark to the Club as he takes up his post from 1st December

Thanks: A massive thank to must go to ALL our volunteer pool staff for the effort they put in week in week out. A special well done to all those who have kept the Performance sessions running in the absence of a Head Coach, you have all done and are doing a fantastic job.

July :   The Committee is very sad to announce Head Coach Paul Woodley is to leave CADS. Paul has been offered a post as Performance Hub Coach for Derwentside.   It was a tough decision for Paul, as he has been very happy in his role with CADS and immensely proud of our swimmers and their achievements.  However the new position will give him and  the opportunity to move back home to Newcastle.   Whilst we are very sad to see Paul leave, the club would like to wish him every success with his new role. The Committee will be doing all they can to ensure all sessions continue to run smoothly as possible, whilst they endeavour to find a new Head Coach.  The position will be advertised and prospective candidates interviewed in due course.

June  : After discussions at both Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe Anchor recent committee meetings it has been decided that we are going to wind down the formation of CASA for the present time. It has been a difficult decision for both clubs but currently neither club appears to be reaping the benefits that we did when the partnership was originally  formed. However we will be continuing with the Junior League until the end of the season as we are obviously part way through this event.   Both clubs would like to continue the partnership to some extent and should we need to train at each other’s pools in the event of any problems with our own etc this will still take place. We are also very hopeful that in the future we may be able to arrange and host an Open Meet together at the new PODS centre opening shortly in Scunthorpe.  It was also suggested at both meetings that although this is how things are at the moment, the situation will be re-assessed on a regular basis and that this is by no means the end of CASA as a joint venture.  Hopefully our individual clubs, coaches and committee will continue to work together to some extent both now and in the future.
