Annual Presentation Evening 2008

Cleethorpes & Distict Swimming Club (CADS) held their Annual Presentation Evening at The Landings on Saturday 22nd November.

Club Chairman Mike Hart welcomed everyone to Annual Presentation Evening. He said “ We are here tonight to celebrate the excellent achievements of CADS swimmers during the swimming year 1^st October 2007 – 30^th September 2008. Whilst these trophies are presented to only a small number of our swimmers on their excellent individual achievements, we should not forget without all our swimmers the Club would not exist and it takes more than one swimmer to make a ‘TEAM’ and this ‘TEAM’ would not be here without the support and help given by all our poolside volunteers, who freely give up their time to teach and coach our swimmers, I don’t want to name them individually, for fear of missing someone out, but I feel we all owe them a debt of gratitude”

The club was delighted to welcome former Chief Coach Nathan Hilton to the event who along with CADS Chief Coach Dan Higgon presented the swimmers with their Trophies and awards

Along with the Presentations we also held our Annual Raffle Draw. Well Done to the Fundraising Team on their efforts organising a great Draw. Thank you to all who sold or purchased tickets and also thanks to the many people and businesses who donated prizes.

Annual Awards

Two new awards this year are the Junior Progression Trophies. These are presented to a girl and boy from the younger groups (Minnows/Marlins/Otters) who the Coaching & Teaching staff have feel have made great strides in there swimming during the past year

The next two trophies are presented to a Boy and Girl, each winner is determined by the swimmers performance across all four strokes on 25m personnel best times as at 30^th September 2008.

The next two trophies are awarded to Junior swimmers the Coaching Staff feel have made the most improvement

JUNIOR SWIMMER OF THE YEAR

These trophies are awarded to swimmers in the 11 yrs age group and younger (as at 31/12/08). They are determined by the swimmers overall performances across all four main strokes, based on their 50M personnel best times as at 30^th September, 2008

(They are awarded so, at least one girl or boy wins one of the awards)
